Is applying Kajal or eye liner to our eyes affects our eyes or make our eyes impure?

Because my friend have eye sore.On consulting with the eye specialist he advised her that not to apply kajal.On applying,dust deposits in our eyes.Is it so?Is applying Kajal or eye liner to our eyes affects our eyes or make our eyes impure?

May be and may not be. It totally depends on the brand that you use. Use a good branded one. if your want to highlight your eyes than try eye liners.
In the past ,there was the misperception that applying kajal to eyes is good for eyes like pouring oil in ears and the like. The kajal preparations,home made or commercial contain Lead and other impurities which are harm ful to the eyes. In infants and children after rubbing eyes the fingers are invariably kept in mouth and this leads to low grade Lead poisoning and retarded brain development. Sometimes as in the case of your friend there may be an allergic reaction to its contents or frank infection if there is a minor abrasion in conjunctiva( white part of globe) or cornea (the transparent central circle) .For eyes to appear larger and appealing some women still apply kajal but it is strongly disapproved by ophthalmologists or eye doctors.
If your friend is applying eyeliner to the bottom inner eyelid it is not a good idea. Our tear relies on the oils that are produced from the meibomian glands in our eyelids.





Tell your friend to apply her eyeliner on the outer eyelid at the eyelid margin to be safe and still beautiful!
ya sometimes it does happens and some peole are allergic to these makeup products..........................
may be the kajal used is not a good quality. actually kajal is good for eyes.
i am an eye specialist too. of course it is never ';good'; for the eye to put kajal. but some eyes can bear it. and some react to it.


one should definitely avoid putting the kajal on the inner line of the lid, inside the lashes, as some are doing, but always on the outside only.


if the eye reacts, it is really advisable to leave it. as a prophylaxis, it is better to only wear it occasionally, and by all means clean it off before going to bed.
