What is the proper why to apply eye liner?

Okay,I'm 20 years old and I always mess up my eye liner.Can someone give me some instruction on how to properly apply it?What is the proper why to apply eye liner?
do ont use too much of it and make sure you have an eyeliner that does not smugg... this video shows u how to put it on.. good luck.

mush it into your lash line then take a q tip and go over it in one stroke
If you use a pencil eyeliner, what i do is: position yourself so where nothing can interfere. Gentlly pull your bottom lid away from you eye, make sure you comfortable, this will also lessen the chances of stabbing yourself in the eye with the eyeliner. Carefully, line you lid pending on how you wish it to look. Smudgy, thin, bold, whatever, just do it slowly and carefully. remember, practice makes perfect!!

well u kno that part of skin that is right next 2 ur eye next to the bottom lashes? put it on that by pulling ur bottom lid gently off ur eye (it might tickle a little)
some people like to put it on the inside-ish part of their eyelids (some peopl already answered like that) but i think that makes your eyes look smaller. just use one slow stroke to carefully apply a line below your lashes. also a nice touch is to make a very small line starting at the outside corner of your eye and go just a tiny little bit toward your temple, it makes your eyes seem more almond shaped and they stand out more.
