How do you apply eye liner on your eyelid?

when ever i try, it looks all jagged and horrible.How do you apply eye liner on your eyelid?

Pull your eye taut with your left hand if you're right handed. Then draw the line as close to the eyelid as you can. You can make it get a little bigger at the end. Then to make it look smoother apply eyeshadow in the same color just like you did the liner. Put it right on top of the liner and that should help make things look smoother. Oh and I like to use those pencils that click not the ones that you have to sharpen. They go on so much smoother.
Eyeliner is OUT!! Go for the smudged look....take the finest point of your eyeshadow applicator dip it in black or dark gray eyeshadow, and make a line across your upper eyelid, you can go over a few times to make it darker, then smudge with the applicator.
Slightly pull the corner of your eyelid out, and hold the eyeliner pointed diagonally from the bottom of the outside corner of your eye. Liquid works best and then you can go back over it with a pencil.
Steady hand. Draw a straight line above the eyelashes. Avon eyeliner is great(non liquid - it is a self sharpening pencil). Liquid eyeliner is not so good for beginners. You can use a q-tip to blend the line more to make it look better.
if you mean like cat eyes, you should use liquid.
