Position your lining device. Hold the lining device as you do a pen or pencil. Turn your hand so the applicator tip is parallel to your eyelid.
If you are in the beginning stages of makeup application, do not use liquid eyeliner.....It can get you real upset.....It's kinda tricky....try it later on after you get the hang of things a little. Instead start with an eyeliner pencil.
Step-1. Using an eyeliner pencil, run the pencil above the upper eyelid lashes right close to the lash line. At first it is best to only line directly above where the lashes are growing, do not extend your line too close to the inner corner of the eye, it might not look right. You can play with extending the liner line later when you feel a little more comfortable with eye makeup.
Step-2. When you have finished lining, lightly smudge the line you just drew. Mostly pencils have a foam rubber smudger on one end. Smudging softens some of the harshness the line may have, in other words, blend the line in a little so it dosen't look like a distinct line. A Q-tip works just as well.
Step-3. After you line and smudge, use a small pointy brush and run a coat of the dark eyeshadow over the eyeliner. Do this if the line looks like it stands out too much, it softens it and is a ';must do'; step for liquid liner.

When i apply eyeliner i pull the skin under my eye and apply it. It looks good
your goin to poke your eye out!!
you should put in on the inner skin below your eye, like not below you lash, but on the inner skin
Dear shisha,
This is how you apply your eyeliner:
1.Assuming you have a steady hand (if not, try this sitting down so you can steady your arm by placing your elbow on a table),position your pencil, so it is as close to the lash-line along the eyelid as possible.
2. Then draw a line from the inner to outer corner using one fluid stroke, following the curvature of the eyelid. Do not extend the line past the outer corner of the eye or hug the tear-drop area of the eye.
3.To start, keep the line as thin as possible, and if a thicker line is desired, repeat the process either across the entire lash-line or simply on the outer third of the lid along the lashes.
4. Making the line along the eyelid a solid, even one, starting thin at the front third of the lid and becoming slightly thicker at the back third of the lid can be an attractive classic look.
5.You can line all the way across the eyelid if you like, from the inside corner to the outer edge, or you can stop the line where the lashes stop and start.
6. Along the lower lashes, line only the outer two-thirds of the eye. Make sure that the two lines meet at the back corner of the eye.
7.As a general rule, avoid lining all the way across the lower eyelashes. Leaving some space on the inside corner of the eye where the lashes end near the tear ducts gives a softer, less severe look. Plus, wrapping a complete circle of eyeliner around the eye tends to create an eyeglasses look and can make the eyeliner a stronger statement than the eye itself.
About the colour,It actually depends on your skin tone,as idont know your skin tone colour i can advise you on a general basis.
-For a classic eyeliner application, choose shades of dark brown, gray, or black eyeshadow for the upper lid and a softer shade of those鈥攖an, taupe, chestnut, soft brown, soft gray, or soft black鈥攁long the lower lashes.
- Eyeliner is meant to give depth to the lashes and make them appear thicker.
-If the liner is a bright color or a true pastel, attention will be focused past the lashes to the colored line, as opposed to the more subtle flow of color from dark lashes to dark liner.
-Test it on yourself.
-Line one eye with a vibrant color, the other eye with brown or black, and see which one looks like it has thicker lashes.
-Then, if all my attempts to convince you have failed, and you still prefer to use bright or pastel liners, go for it.
P/S :REMEMBER TO SHARPEN YOUR EYELINER PENCIL BEFORE USE TO PREVENT BACTERIA INFECTION.
I understand that at times it might be a little difficult to follow step by step procedurs,so ive found you this excellent link to check out the step-by-step video.Im sure you will be a prefessional with all this help.
use a lighter to soften the pencil, just apply a thin line, apply a powder to set the liner.
even better try mac eye shadow, with an angle brush. works 100 times better!!
place a fine line at edge of lid and then take a q-tip or cotton swab and wipe under eye.. no mess and stays in place.
sounds like you might have too dark of a shade and are putting too much on. try a lighter color and use a light touch, apply it just to the eye lash line. try just on the top lid and see how you like it, if it is not too much just use a little on your bottom lash line.
if you want to you can smudge it a little with the end of your finger to blend it.

It all depends on your eye shape, eye color, skin tone, and lash size. Some people shouldn't wear liner they should use shadow as an outline....... I would go to any beauty site on the web and find your stats then work from there.
well just not too thick is the key. also, you didnt specify, but you dont have to use black. try using different colors like brown, green, or navy blue. i always start by using a really light eyeshadow (ivory/white) and smudge it along your lower lashes, under your eyebrows and near your tear ducts (the inside corner of your eyes). this will 'wake up' your eyes. i apply the eyeliner from the outside of my lid to the inside, on both bottom and top. and i never bring the eyeliner all the way in to the inside of my tear duct. i always leave about 1/4 of my lower and upper lids uncovered. hope this helps =)
First, make sure your eye pencil is properly sharpened (that will help a lot. Also, a lot of black pencils have the tendancy to smudge, so if that is a problem with your eyes, switch to a dark gray, dark navy, or forest green. straighten out your eye using your ring finger to pull very gently toward your ear. Apply a VERY thin line along the bottonm (UNDER you lashes) and a slightly thicker line above. If you pencil the bottom skin it gives you MORE of a rocker look, not less, and only lasts an hour or so before you have to reapply.
