Help! How does one apply liquid eye-liner?

I got a little tired of using the old kohl pencils and i thought i'd take the plunge and buy some liquid eye-liner. Could anyone give me step-by step instructions on how to apply it?

Thanks so much. xxHelp! How does one apply liquid eye-liner?
PRACTICE,PRACTICE,PRACTICEHelp! How does one apply liquid eye-liner?
Can be tricky. I struggled with the pot of liquid with the brush and found that a liquid eye liner pen is a good way of getting used to it. They are just like felt tip pens and are intermediates between the liquid and the kohl. Once you master this liquid is easy.

I think it helps to rest your elbow on a steady surface. Shut your eye and draw slowly along the upper lid from inside to out ( start a little way from the centre of the eye). Finish with a nice flick at the end for a sexy feline look.

Bottom.. start from outside and work inwards but only a third of the way ( think it can look overdone otherwise)

Good luck
Liquid eyeliner is a pain.. difficult to apply and potential smudging.

I recommend Almay's amazing lasting eye pencil... I wear it every day, and won't use anything else. In warm weather, seal it with Benefit's She-Laq.
Great question, been reading your answers, cos i to have tried this many times, but always end up looking like a panda, good luck and hope you master the art
Carefully.
with a small brush and a steady hand
1. pik up the eye-liner

2. put it on your eyelid

3. finished
well liquid eye liner goes good on the top of the eye lid, not the bottom. just close your eye and put your finger at the end of your eye then apply it starting from left to right try to apply it as close to your lash line as possible. Have fun
rest your elbow on a hard surface, close eye and follow the lash line-but you must do it in one stroke.or if you mess up, apply it however you do and shape it with a wet cotton bud afterwards. easy.
I throw out mine coz I did not know how 2 use it.

Stick 2 pencils :)
i love the look of liquid eye liner...a good technique that works for me is using a short brush that way it feels like you have more control....when you get started make sure the brush isn't too wet...better yet make sure it is almost dry...but not dry enough so you can't see it when you put it on...this is done so you can use it on you eyelid as a kind of practice...once you get the ';rough draft'; to your satisfaction (try as close to the lashline as possible) wet the brush...this time to the amount that you would have originally would have put on...now apply this to your eye using the ';rough draft'; as a guideline...once you do this more often you'll be an expert and all you'll have to do is apply!
carefully very carefully
To apply liquid eye liner, draw the brush out of the bottle or tube and stroke it against the mouth of the tube to remove excess liquid and taper the brush to a fine point. Using the very tip of the brush, stroke the eyeliner evenly across the lid as close to the base of the lashes as possible, beginning with the inner corner of the eye and continuing to the outer corner of the eyelid. Apply the line in several short brush strokes.
You need a steady hand, good light and a nice bright clean mirror.

Look in the mirror, steady your elbow on the table and close the eye that you want to to apply the make up to.

Put a little eyeliner on the brush and wipe any excess on the side of the container.

Put the tip of the brush against your eyelid near your eye lashes in the corner of your eye.

Follow the line of your eyelashes from the corner of your eye to the outer edge. You may want to add an upwad stroke at the outer corner.

Repeat with the other eyelid.

Don't open your eyes too wide until it feels dry otherwise it will smudge.
fluidly
with great care and close the eye you are doing ha ha ha
draw dots on the bottom eyelid closely together then dab on them untill you think they look right
It should have the applicator in it, you just have to do it quite quickly, it will stop itching after a while when you're used to it!
The best way to apply is to first make sure that you entire eyelid does not have any extra oil on it (from your mosturizer, etc.) this will cause the eyeliner to slide a bit more than you would like and it will not hold as well. Even better, put a little eyeshadow base along the top lashline before the liquid eyeliner.

Next you will need to get VERY close to your mirror and take the left hand (if you are a righty) and pull the outer corner of your eyelid outward softly to make a more flat surface for the application. With the other hand, lightly line the upper eyelash with the brush, as if you are painting a thin line in a water coloring book. Be very careful not to take too much on the brush which will cause it to splash too far on your eyelid and may even get on your upper cheek.

Once you have done both eyes it's very important to let it dry COMPLETELY before adding any additional eye products to avoid smudging (mascara, eye shadow. etc). A liquid eyeliner to try is from Maybelline, and meet mark also makes a great one for a great price. The liquid eyeliner look will last a long time (usually until you take it off at night with makeup remover), and gives a much more dramatic eye look (think Sofia Loren or Angelina Jolie), so you may want to keep the rest of your makeup softer (cheeks and lips).
