How do I apply liner on the bottom part of my eye?

If I put thin liquid or pencil liner under my eye, instead of accentuating my eyes, it seems to accentuate the bags under my eyes! Am I just paranoid? I use concealer on the dark circles, but the liner just seems to drag my eyes down and make me look droopy or tired or something. I have very large eyes and would like to do more with them. Does anyone have the same problem? How do I apply liner on the bottom part of my eye?
What colour of eye liner are you using? If you are using black liner, it may be too harsh, or you may be applying too much. Use softer colours such as brown or gray. Gray liner works really well with pale blue eyes and green eyes. Brown works with most eye colours. If you want it to look more natural, use a dot of eyeliner between each lash. If you want your eyes to appear wider, apply it from the center of your lashline and outwards towards your temples. If you need something to do at home one day, take new colours such as indigo and experiment (be sure to have some makeup remover around, just in case). You may find a new look that you like!

Good luck!

XOXO,

LaurieHow do I apply liner on the bottom part of my eye?
Pull the bottom of your eye down a bit when using eye liner in that area. You should be applying it ABOVE your eyelashes, which is pretty close to your nude eye. If you apply it on or below your eyelashes, it will make it look droopy. Good luck.
Don't worry! You aren't paranoid. Usually if you put eyeliner on your bottom lid, it makes your eyes look all droopy. You should only put eyeliner on the top eyelid because it looks way better, especially if you are wearing pretty eyeshadow. I used to put eyeliner on my bottom eyelid too, and it didnt look half as good as it does now when I only put it on the top one.

Good luck!
ya it usually happens. if you wear liner under ur eye it will show ur bags more.. just put eyeliner on top of ur eyelid. it looks much better with a pretty eyeshadow
Eyeliner under any eye,s draws attention to that area,I would suggest using mascars on lower lashes and nothing more. This will make your eyes attractive, but not overdone/harsh.
im not sure if someone beat you to this but try eyeshadow as an eyeliner.it works with me.
Try not using a liner but a dark shadow, like brown and an angle brush. Just lightly rub the color at the base of your lashes, Use a little at first and then if you need apply more.
Forget the liquid.Use a soft pencil, and draw a very thin line just below the bottom eyelashes. Now,take a q-tip or smudge brush, and smudge it into a soft line. The reason you eyes are looking dragged down is because the line is too thick.Never use black for any part of your eyes. It's too severe.Medium to dark brown will give you a much softer look.Be sure the pencil is sharp, and the line is very thin. The smudging will increase the line somewhat A thick line under the eyes wil make you look too made up and give you a cheap look..Remember,especially if you are young, that less is more.Just enough eye make up to enhance your large eyes will do wonders.Good luck
what i do to apply eyeliner is i give my under eyelid a pull- just enough to see your tear drop (the little lump with the hole in it on the far inside corner of your eye). then i start to apple the eyeliner by lightly rubbing it on right into your eyelashes-and then i wipe the access away with a tissue. and your eyeliner is on!!
well i dont really have the same problem but what i usually do is put on a line then use a q-tip and wipe off the bottom so it is skinny and even, then a little of it will smudge underneath and it looks perfect. hope this helps!
Sometimes if you put a really straight, smooth line under your eye, it can make you look a little bug-eyed or something. I see girls do that all the same, and just wish I could go fix it for them.

A better attempt at lining the bottom of your eye is to use a softer kohl liner pencil. Make the line thicker toward the outside of your eye. Make sure to line the actual lid, as well. For a cat-eyed look, you can draw this inside line right to the very inner corner of your eye, and point it down and toward your nose a bit. ( Don't go overboard with that, just a hint will do.) Next, use your finger to blend the pencil outward. You want a soft, dark look, not a stark, drawn on kiddie-goth look, right?

Finally, to add a bit of a finishing touch, you can use your fingertip to smudge some eyeshadow on, right overtop of the line. The best to use, supposing you're using black eyeliner, is one shade lighter. I like dark brown, myself. But gray or dark violet can also be sexy.

Hope this helps!!
Hey im not sure this is right but look up and use a regular sharp pencil next time
The answer is not to only put eye liner on your top lid.

Eye liner can look beautiful when applied to the ENTIRE eye if it is done correctly.

I use a Lancome black eyeshadow I do believe the color is 'Onyx' is has subtle flecks of silver in it. It's wonderful!

I use an angled eye brush(get a nice one the $18 is well worth it) and I apply the makeup above the lower eye lashes. Do the same thing to the upper eyelashes as well. If you have a hard time with a straight line use a q-tip to smudge and soften the lines.

I have found that with this technique, using nice cosmetics I can go on a rigorous 4 hour hike and my makeup surprisingly doesn't run/smudge/get messed up. It's the only way I have found to get color on the lower part of my eye and have it stay, without looking racoony and gross.
To draw in the bottom part of your eye you need a soft sharpened pencil, not rigid because it can cut the sensitive tissue around your eye. To apply it to make it NOT look droopy or ';racoon'' eyed I suggest to draw it on the part right above your bottom eyelashes, not underneath them. It fills in around the shape of you eyes and also a little mascara on the top lashes really brings out the eyes too.
yeah i do.thats why i wear eyeliner on the top and bottom to even my eyes out. almost like an egyptian but not that extreme.

it seems like your only focusing on the bottom but what you need to do is also focus on the top of your eye as well.

take you liquid eyeliner and make a thin line above your eye, close to your eyelashes, then take a pencil eyeliner and put it on the bottom of your eye not to heavy though.

it might take some time to get it right but trust me it's worth it.
you aren't suppose to put liquid eyeliner on the lower part of your eye, instead use a pencil in a dark brown

make sure you're using concealer that is made for eyes, that could be the problem too

good luck!
i too have big eyes. try applying the liner on the corners of your eyes only. it brings out your eyes more, focusing less on the bags. good luck
Stop wearing makeup it's bad for your face.

It wil make the dark circles come, and give you sags and wrinkles.
i have the exact same problem. i have big eyes but whenever i wear eyeliner it seems to just make the bags under my eyes look darker and huger. its quiet ugly. i have blonde hair and so i have very light eyelashes. i like to wear.. (when i do wear makeup) is black mascara. but wearing alot makes your eyes stand out and look very beautiful haha good luck
Put a very fine line of makeup just above your lower lash line

[ not inside the eyelid ].Start about 1/3 the distance from your nose, where lashes start; and line to outer corner of eye, up to top lid liine, with a slight upward curve.

DON'T make the line too thick;

make it all the way to inner eye corner

forget slight upward curve.
There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

How to apply liquid eye liner(O_o)?

I am totally confused, I have tried so many times and I can't manage to apply it on myself=s

Good luck. You'll soon get the hang of it!

xXx 鈾?David Tennant Lover 鈾?xXxHow to apply liquid eye liner(O_o)?
pull your eyelid taut at the outer edge. start at the inner corner of the eyelid as close the the lashes as possible. use short thin strokes getting thicker as you get towards the outer corner of your eye.

If you still have problems, Spehora has this product called 'tricks of the trade' eyeliner last. it's a clear topcoat that you put over a regular pencil liner %26amp; it stays put as if you had used liquid liner. it doesnt smudge, smear, or sweat off. is removable with makeup remover.
do it in lots of small lines across your eye lid. that way you don't have to worry about doing one big line in one go.

if you take your index finger, close one eye and hold down the eye lid by your lashes, then you can use your spare eye to look in the mirror and apply!!

practice a lot and you should get the hang of it in no time at all :)
dont start from the coner of the inside of your eye go twords the middle and you want to do one swoop as close to the lash line as possible... after go back in and lightly fill the corner you didnt do just be still and fast it takes a little big of practice but you will get it :]] okay good luck
start from one corner of your eye to the other one with little the liquid eyeliner but use small strokes. on youtube they have a lot of videos just enter the username expertvilllage or you can put pencil eyelinere first then the liquid liner on top.
Start at the middle of your eye and do small gentle strokes outwards... also, if you draw a guideline with a pencil eyeliner you can make sure its neat before you apply your eyeliner. ;)

Hope I helped! ;)

put the eyeliner just on the inside if yr eye lid and u should b fine

How do I apply mascara? How about eye liner? False eyelashes?

I'll probably wear make up for my first time at my graduation. How do I apply mascara? How about eye liner? False eyelashes?
Congratulations on staying natural for so long... for some girls that is really hard and I am sure that you must be really pretty if you can do that.

However, mascara is put on really easily, you just hold the brush and swipe upwards on each eye on the top eyelashes and maybe the bottom for a more severe look. The more strokes you take... the darker and longer they will look.

Eye liner is a little bit trickier and there are many ways of doing it... you can apply it on the top lid or the bottom lid for a sharper look. For more subtle hold one eye shut with you finger and with the other hand draw a small line right near the eye lash line of the top lid but dont go all the way to the inside corner of your eye, stop about halfway. To do the bottom lid, just do the same thin line very close to your eyelashes and the end of your eyelid but don't go all the way to the corners of your eyes.

And lastly, false eyelashes have the directions on the box... all of them are different. Some you glue on with glue that comes with it and some come pre-sticky.

Good luck and I hope you look great! How do I apply mascara? How about eye liner? False eyelashes?
If you're going to wear fake eyelashes there's different kinds simply follow the directions, but put them on first. then apply the eyeliner everyone wears it differently, me i give my eyes the egyption look from the inner corner out till just a little pass your natural line. Then i apply the mascara this binds your natural lash to the fake ones and keeps them from falling off
mascara- look up and put the brush right by your lashes and blink slowlyand then run it along the bottom lashes

eyeliner- get close to the lash line and you light want to use a smudger to help with the shape if this is your first time wearing it

false eyelashes- are tricky the first time but then pretty easy. apply the adhesive glue and close the eye you are working with, get the lash as close to you'r lash line as possible and hold these for around 30 seconds
mascara is easy. you hold the brush with your left hand when you do your left eye and use your right ofr oyur right eye. to do the top lashes just start from the bottom and go up. eye liner is a bit harder since you need ot so a straight liner. i would advise to just do the inner bottom part of your eye because then this way you cant mess up. for false eye lashes you put the glue at the end of them and then just place them above your naturaul eye lashes
Tips for applying Mascara

you take the wand/brush of the mascara and apply from the inner eyelash out, then put the eyeliner on top start from the middle then go out straight..good luck! :)

Any advice in how to apply liquid eye liner?

u have to have a steady hand otherwise i'd suggest u ask sum1 else to put it for u

anywayz make sure ur eyelids are stretched and then apply the eyeliner...and make sure u let it dry or else ur gonna have 2 lines on ur eyes...and thats sure to make any1 crack up... :)

it'd help to have one eye open at all times....Any advice in how to apply liquid eye liner?
If you're going for precision, I just lay it on thick and keep a Q-tip moistened with water or eye makeup remover ready to swipe off the excess for a perfect line.

Also, dotting it between your lashes (I do it after applying mascara) adds a lot of drama, too.Any advice in how to apply liquid eye liner?
10x mirror, elbow on flat surface, sometimes I heard its best to rest your wrist on your upper cheekbone, then draw the line to the halfway point, reposition the wrist continue the other half line to finish the whole line.

Othes go right to left in a quick motion. Tricky. Unless your left handed go left to right. Is this making sense?
its just that u need to practice for a while before u can manage to wear eyeliner properly. i suppose u know to wear it but u just dont wear it perfectly?? just pratice for some few days and u will know to wear it .
I would suggest you get a normal eyeliner pencil in the colour of the liquid eyeliner you are using. Use the pencil to draw the line you want the liquid eyeliner to cover and then go over the pencil line with the liquid eyeliner. The pencil is much easier to rub off if you go wrong and having an outline for the liquid eyeliner makes it much easier to apply and makes it more accurate!
While you're still getting the hang of it, I recommend a slightly thick line, and then erasing with a Q-Tip. Try to avoid applying another layer; it'll just make it harder to fix. Good luck! I've had horrible experiences with liquid liner.... If things really don't work out, try black eye shadow or pencil liner.

How do I apply white eye liner?HELP PLEASE!?

White eyeliner is applied on the inside of your eye (where your lashes begin) not on the outside. Pull the bottom lash area down a little while looking in the mirror and run the white eyeliner pencil back and forth. This white eyeliner makes the eye seem larger giving it a refreshed look. Black or brown eyeliner would be applied outside of the eye on the literal lash line. Good luck ;-DHow do I apply white eye liner?HELP PLEASE!?
I find applying it along the inner rim of my eyes (near the bridge of my nose) and under my tear ducts has a nice effect. You can also apply it on your lower lash rim (the skin closest to your eye), doing that will brighten up your entire face. I don't suggest putting it on your upper lid because it will take away from the intensity the line under your eye has.How do I apply white eye liner?HELP PLEASE!?
i like it on the inner corners or on the top lashes with a black bottom lash line. the two really contrast
same way you do other eyeliner id suspect
By putting it on the inner corners of your eyes, it helps make you look more awake and your eyes brighter! Hope this helps.
Well, you should use this after your normal black or brown eye liner...It is for the bottom lash line.. draw a tiny dot at the inner corner where your tear duct is, then work your way down to the middle of the bottom lash line. That's how you should apply your white liner... It'll make your eye appear much bigger and awake too! You can also try metallic gold or pink...!
Apply it just like any other eyeliner but also i put it in the inner corners of my eyes just by following the crese it makes you eyes look more wide and awake.
Just like you do other eyeliners, but may I suggest only putting on the inside of your lashes on the bottom of your eye. The purpose of white eyeliners are to open your eyes and make you look refreshed if your eyes are tired. It really doesnt look very good if you put it on your eyelid
same way u do black or brown eyeliner
only on the inner corner
you swipe it on the corners of your eyes.

to make you look more awake.
I put it on the waterline of my lower lashes only. that's the kinda moist part above your lower eye lashes. make sure you sharpen the pencil before you use it to get rid of any dirty stuff on there, b/c it's so close to your eye, and push down the point a little so you don't stab your eye. hold your eyelid taut and be very gentle. it takes a few more swipes than black to show up, but it looks really good.

How do you apply liquid eye liner? easy 10 points?

i hav no clue ! i dont want to get it in my eye, does anyone have tips for a beginner ? [ i just bought wet n wild liquid eyeliner =] ]How do you apply liquid eye liner? easy 10 points?
right hunni i only really do it on the top eyelid so ill explain how i do it. I take any excess liquid eyeliner off the brush by brushing against the whole of the bottle (this is so you dont end up with a big splodge of black on your eye!!!) and it means the liquid is just absorbed into the brush.. I then start from the inside of my eye and lightly do i thin line, as i get to the middle, i get my finger and pull back my eye and continue the line to the end of the eye, practice makes perfect!!! and after you have tried it out a couple of times, try doing a neat flick at the end...it is a difficult technique to do but it will become natural once you have done it a few times!!! If you are going to have a practice make sure you keep some make up wipes near to you, so you can wipe away your practiced ones, and re-do again, and just keep trying from there!!! hope that helped you Hun xxxHow do you apply liquid eye liner? easy 10 points?
small dots along the lash line- careful with the bottom lash
i dont put mine on bottom cause i dont likie it but to put it on top with one hand hold your eye lid shut and with the other hand start from the inside of the eye(by your nose) and start to draw a thin or thick line coming out for a more dramatic effect wing the ends to make lashes appear longer
First of all, RELAX! It will be a piece of cake. You should practice first, when you have no where to go. With one eye closed, hold the corner of that eye with one finger. With the other hand gently glide the liner along the lash line, from the inside corner of your eye, going out. Experiment with the cat-eye look by extending the liner up and out past the corner of your eye. Smoothe lines, work slow but smoothly. Good luck.
let someone else do it
if u are applying to your lower lid, it will run into your eye if you dont let it try. When you are holding down your lid...apply the liner then hold your lid down for a few seconds to let it dry. If it goes into your eye is burns...I try to stick with the pencils. Theyre easier to control and they last a lot longer, Good luck!
Rest your elbow on your desk, put your hand/wrist on your cheek, if your using a pencil eye liner i suggest you gently lift up the eyelid %26amp; draw it a little above the lash line (and then smude it, or blend it into your eye shadow), or if your using liquid i suggest you open your eyes, til your head up a little, and draw it on..draw it little by little, not in one sweep..it will turn out to be crooked. %26amp; also apply pencil for the bottom %26amp; then smudge with your finger.
its basically like a normal pencil, but its harder to put on. dont put on too much cuz it might drip slightly. and be careful cuz once u mess up, its hard to clean. also, liquid liner gives a more harsh look so only use it on ur top lid, just go slow and do it like a pencil almost, good luck!!!
Pull your eye lid, just as you would for regular eye liner. Draw very close to the lash line. Move carefully; if you get too shaky it'll look sloppy. Give it a couple of tries, It's really not too hard!
thats the kind i use and i LOVE it. i cant really tell you how to do it..it just takes some practice. go slow, and be careful.

putting the eyeliner on your bottom eye makes it look smaller.

putting it on the top just makes your eye pop.

putting it on both will make your eye small looking on most people.

but some people will make it pop.

it really matters on what shape you eye is.

both works on me, but less on the bottom.
umm, i wear it on both my top and bottom lids.

but my friend only wears it on her bottom.

you can wear it however you want. your face, your choice.
its common to wear heavy make-up when you are first learning b/c its hard to get that perfect line.

If you're using liquid eyeliner, don't worry if it's messy at first. Apply it by pulling your eyelid flat, and then afterwards, take a damp q-tip (I usually just lick it ;) ) and go along the top of the line to straighten it out. My eyeliner looks horrible at first, but when I go along it with the damp q-tip, it looks perfect.I cant apply eye liner...HELP!!!?
I don't even know if this explanation will sound right or just weird! But take your left finger (if your right handed) and stretch your lid out. This will give you a flatter surface w/less give and give you an easier time appling liner (liquid or pencil). If you use liquid, keep your eye lid shut for a minute to allow it to completely dry. If that doesn't help, go to the Mac make up counter and have them show you!
i couldnt put eyeliner on b4 cuz it wouldnt come out rite so i decide to just use the pencil instead cuz it works better. and if that doesnt work just ask someone to help u or just go natural which well always make anyone beautiful
Are you using liquid eyeliner or a pencil? A pencil is much easier to use. What you do is hold the outer corner of your eye while applying it with the other hand. Ofcourse you will want to do this with your eye closed.
try closing one eye and start on the outside of your eyelid and start drawing your line to about the middle of your eyelid you dont need it all the way across.i use a brown covergirl pencil with a white tip at the other end to smooth out your harsh lines.i love it i hope this helps you
lol cant help you there. maybe sharpen ur pencil?
You should go to the MAC counter and they really can help you. They helped me and I could not believe the results
It's going to take practice. Practice holding your hand very steady, and then practice touching your lid with the pencil, as your eye will probably flutter. It will just take practice, but remember to be calm. As long as you have some eye makeup remover, you'll be alright. Hold your pencil (or sometimes I find liquid liner easier!), as close to the lash line as possible. With a steady hand, glide it along the lash line (without leaving any space between the line and then lashes). Good luck!
    use a pencil instead....
Hold your eye down and apply the pencil on the bottom part. make sure the eye liner pencil isn't to sharp or to dull. this can mess it up or possibly hurt you. if its messy maybe you need a new pencil. i hope i helped =]

By putting it on your eye. I think.
    edit
The easiest way is to close your eye and press your eyelash down against your face so it stretches out. Then, apply a thin line from the inside of the eye to the outside. It helps if you look up while you do it. That stretches the eyelid even more. Once you get better at it, you won't need to stretch your eyelid anymore.
use your finger to pull the edge of your eyelid so that you can see the top of your eyelid properly, then use your eyeliner to coat the edge of your eyelid .it depends on whether you're using liquid liner or a pencil. its more difficult with liquid liner. after a few times you'll be doing it like a pro. practise makes perfect!!! :)

the top put on thick and the bottom she uses a pencil
Looks like the girl just took eyeliner and did it ALL around her eyes..

So take black liquid eyeliner and line the top lashes and the bottom lashes or waterline of your eyes. When you line the top lashes, go ALL the way in to the little corners of ur eyes, and go down into the lower lashes. Then take some insane mascara or even false eyelashes and put those on.

Sorry I can't help more... good luck! =]
You have to line your inner eyelid with a dark black eyeliner.
just apply the eyeliner on thick
just apply eye liner top and bottom, but then put a dark shade of eye shadow to the crease.
apply it on the top and bottom lids
Buy a waterproof black eyeliner - so it doesn't smudge on the bottom. Then line the top eyelid and smudge upward a little - so it covers more of the eyelid just directly above the lashes. Then line the lower lid carefully - apply eyeliner with smudging motion and work it inbetween your lower lashes, then line the inner rim of the eye - thats the key part, unless you line the inner rim it won't look the same, but be careful - it takes a steady hand.
put it on your eyelid as usual, but around the eye as well. or i like to put it on normal then use the end to smudge it down.

on the bottom only go half way ( or untill the thickness of your bottom lashes stop) and on the top apply a VERY thin line go all the way over but make it slightly thicker on the outer crease
You could use the eye liner and draw a thin line as close to your eye on your eye lid as possible. If you draw the line too big, your eye will appear to be bigger.

How do I apply Liquid-Eye liner?

Video's and websites would work best, too. I tried asking my Mom to help teach me, only she always draws a thick black line across my eye-lid, right by my lashes...not ON the lashes, but by them....is she doing it right?? It looks so weird at first, but she told me to let it dry, and that afterwords it'd be OK??How do I apply Liquid-Eye liner?

Don't worry about it, hun. It's easy if you do it right. For the bottom, grab your eye until you can see the line right before your eyelashes and put your eyeliner there like you were coloring something. For the top, close your eye and put it right where your eyelashes are.
just keep it really close to your eyelashes. and dont make it too terribly thick. otherwise it looks like you've been crying or something.
firrst of all, if you're just starting off, its better to use a pencil.. Concentrate only on that when you're applying and make sure you don't pause in between.. continually draw a neat line while supporting the skin with another hand..

    ok start w. the lower

start at the corner and slowly work it to the end corner of ur bottom lash line

and slowly line it where the lashes starts. sometimes it tickles me but just keep doing it. ok then for the top u can put ur finger on ur eyelid and pull up and then line it under the lashline like that soft liquidy part well yah know not liquidy but smooth and then like back and forth into the lash line and do the whole top corner to corner

Use a pencil, it looks more natural. just apply it as closely as you can to the upper and lower lid.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO APPLY EYE LINER? I FIND IT REALLY DIFFICULT ;-(?

Choose an eyeliner appropriate for your eye color. Brown, navy and charcoal accent light eyes well, while brown and plum shades flatter brown eyes. Make sure your liner complements the color of your shadow.

Consider the type of look you're after. Pencil eyeliner gives your eyes soft definition, while liquid versions offer precision and drama. You can also moisten dark eye shadow and apply it with a small, flat brush.

Prepare a cake liner or a dark eye shadow by applying a small amount of water to your brush. Or, if you're using a pencil eyeliner, ensure that you've sharpened the pencil adequately.

Move the wet brush gently through your cake liner or dark shadow. Hold the brush or pencil as you would hold a pen.

Tilt your head back slightly and bring your eyes to a half-open state. This creates a good angle for application, while allowing you to see what you're doing.

Draw a line across the upper lid just above the lashes, from the inside corner to the outside corner of the eye. If you're using liquid liner, allow it to dry before opening your eyes all the way, or the color may transfer into the crease of your eye.

If you used a brush or a pencil, soften the look by gently smudging the line with your brush, a cotton swab or your finger.

Line the lower lids. Moving from the outside edge inward, draw a line on the outer two-thirds of the lid or more, depending on the look you're going for. Your line should be slightly thicker at the outside corner, becoming thinner as it moves in toward your nose. Using your brush or pencil, lightly stroke the area. If using a liquid liner, apply it in one smooth stroke. Apply less color so your eyes don't appear raccoon like.WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO APPLY EYE LINER? I FIND IT REALLY DIFFICULT ;-(?
    keep practicing, practice makes perfect,

depends what eyeliner your using, liquid, pencil or felt tip.

for me, i never use liquid for beginners even now i am not really comfortable in using them but i must admit they do last longer that pencil though (unless you cry that is). but on the top eyelid i would suggest to use felt tip eyeliner like the bourjois paris liner feutre, it's so easy to control its just like drawing a line with a felt tip! and for pencil it's best to use a good brand eyeliner like dior or it will smudge easily.

the best way is to hold one eye down when its closed and whether your right arm or left arm use that hand to apply the eyeliner, try not to blink whilst applying the bottom.WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO APPLY EYE LINER? I FIND IT REALLY DIFFICULT ;-(?
just go along the top and bottom lashes.

dont go into the corners of your eyes, that looks tacky.

keep practicing and make sure you dont cake it on.

btw, its a lot easier to apply if you use liquid liner and a brush. you can get it at MAC. heres the link:

If you're a beginner on applying eyeliner I'd suggest using a eyeliner pencil or gel eyeliner, it's way easier!

When I started using eyeliner I used a liquid one and it was so difficult so I decided to buy gel eyeliner and it's so much easier! (=

look down, and if you need to gentle hold your eyelid, start drawing the line from the middle, then to the outer corner, then finish the inside.

    Well, just practice.

When I first started, I just put it on, then corrected it with a baby wipe.

You can get an angeled brush and use eye shadow, that's a great way. It also comes off easier if you need to correct it.

  • Different ways of applying eye liner?

My girlfriend SWEARS by this way of putting on eye liner. All she does is close her eyes and stick the tip of her black eye liner pencil into the edge of her eye and drags it to the inside corner of her eye. Does that really work better than just going around your eye with the pencil? She says it doesn't hurt because she isn't 'pokeing' herself in the eye. What are some tips for applying?Different ways of applying eye liner?
It's all about what's comfortable for you. I close my eye, start from the inside of the lid, and feather along as close to my lashes as I can. That'll give you a starting point. Since I use that as my guideline, I can darken and shape as much as I want without much discomfort. I personally go wider towards the outside of my lid, but it really depends on your eye shape and what your preference is.Different ways of applying eye liner?
it doesn't hurt tell your girl friend that placing the pencil in her eye is a very easy way of getting eye infections but there are other ways of doing as well placing the eye liner pencil on top of the lid right by the edge, making the line and then smudging it along. liquid eye liner usually used right on top.there are a lot more maybe as a x-max gift to her you can take her to a salon for make-up application and she can ask for some tips

do they look gay?Do you guys thinks dat guy apply mascara, eye liner and make ups are abnormal?
    Personally No.

But some people may feel they do look Gay or Sterotypical Emo Guys.

I dont Judge people by what they wear or whatever so it doesnt really bother me as such however i know people who think it is weird but its your own opinion. If someone likes wearing it and then they shouldnt really care what other people think. Its there body and life, it isnt ruled by nobody.Do you guys thinks dat guy apply mascara, eye liner and make ups are abnormal?
not abnormal, just plain ugly. in my opinion guys are supposed to be manly, at least that's the way i like them, and all this girly stuff is just one big turn off. and yes, they look gay
Of course not! Look at Davey Havok, He wears makeup and i respect the hell out of him and think hes pretty damn fit. Guys look hot with eye makeup. End of. (:
No, a lot of my favourite male musicians wear makeup. Tilo Wolf and Mana, for example.
    its not really abnormal

    some dont look gay..

it depends on how they apply the makeup
    just weird...very weird...
no makeup looks hot on guys gotta love that guyliner
I think it looks FLAMING ;o)
    hehe...do wat u like......!!!
its not gay because rockstars, emo people/singers use them and it just changes the appearance. it just kinda depends on how the guy puts it on and the personalty

The best way you can learn how to apply makeup is if you go to www.youtube.com and enter makeup and you will find tons of videos on people showing other people how to put on makeup. Good luck:):):):)
Stick with neutral colours close to your skin tone. Black eyeliner is dramatic, and liquid liners are very conspicuous.

Apply a base colour to the lid (I use a taupe colour, and I have a medium-dark skin tone) and highlight the brow bone just under the eyebrows.

Be warned: if you haven't done your eyebrows in a while, the hairs will look like they got klieg lights shone on them, so keep up with the grooming (this I learned the hard way).

Once you have the base out of the way (at most, you'll have a bit of a shimmer from that), use a neutral colour (browns, skin-like pinks, just not electric blue or something like that) on the lid. Just keep to the natural shape of your lid using a simple shadow brush.

Using a darker neutral, use a crease brush (looks essentially like a regular paint brush, and is very precise) to apply that to your eye crease. Don't press to hard. You don't want a line, you want a gradient from the lid to the crease.

Using your highlighter colour and crease brush, apply the highlight to the inner corners of your eyelid ending just before the nose bridge. While barely noticable, it makes the eyes pop.

IF you are going to use liner, you have options:

    1) pencil

    2) liquid

    3) cream

    4) shadow

The pencil and liquid are simple. The pencil should be sharp but not too sharp as it could crumble and get into your eyes. If you need to, pull the skin on your eyelid taut and trace lightly over the lid line (don't go into the waterline- it's too dramatic). You can skip the bottom lid if you want; I never do it, but I also have very thick eyelashes. Stick with either brown or brownish-black.

You will need a very precise brush for cream and shadow. For eyeshadow, wet the brush slightly and get the edge of the eyeshadow (you can wreck good eyeshadow otherwise). Wipe off the excess on the back of your opposite hand (now you have a palette! hooray!) and work from the inside out, lightly tracing the lid.

For a cream liner, just skip the water, you don't need it. Cream liner tends to be longer lasting. Shadow liner is to pencil as cream is to liquid. Logically. Either way, stick to neutrals of brown and brownish black.

You can use mascara, though waterproof is more intense colourwise. I use a brownish-black, not a straight black, when I want a more natural look.

If you want a primer, I suggest shopping around for what works for you (just keep the receipt so you can return what doesn't) or even a basic foundation. I personally cheat and use vaseline (yes, my skin is that dry).
ok so for eye liner take it. if its a pencil then run it under a flame quickly to make it soft. if its one of those ones that goes on easy then just go. pull the bottom eye lid down so theres a little ridge thats usually hid by ur eye. rub the eye liner along it and thats it.

How to apply thin eye liner and wear to buy it? (no liquid liner please)?

okay so i always have trouble with eye makeup. i'm horrible at applying eyeliner, and the only time i've ever used eye liner was when i used a colored eyeliner bu it looked like eye shadow. i want to know how to apply thin eyeliner to make my eyes pop. how do you do that? How to apply thin eye liner and wear to buy it? (no liquid liner please)?
When you put it on bottom, lay it on thick, but try ti stay away from the bottom lashes. When you are putting eyeliner on on the top get the lashes first, if you mess up who cares? After you get to the lashes go over it again from the outside in so you can see the line with your eyes open, the smudge from the top down towards your lashes with your fingers, this really makes you eyes pop and gives you a subtle smokey look. How to apply thin eye liner and wear to buy it? (no liquid liner please)?
I use a black eye shadow and an angled make up brush. Dab the brush on the shadow and then draw it on. The angled brush helps put it in place and keeps the line pretty thin and if you want to make it thicker you can. Make sure to stay close to your eyelashes.
check out the following for a tutorial on how to apply your eyeliner like a pro- the instructor shows you step by step how to apply as she is applying to her own eyes- Cool!

    http://beautyinreallife.blogspot.com/200…
Put your finger under your bottom eyelid and pull down. You should have a clear view of the thin line above your bottom eyelashes. Then look through a mirror and colour the line in.

%26amp; you can buy it from Boots or any body shop stores.

    (:

    x
To apply thin eyeliner, just put it on the top and bottom. (For the bottom, put it on above the eye lashes. [the pinkish red part.]) it may hurt/be tricky at first, but ull get the hang of it!! good luck and hope i helped!! (:
try a Jordana self advancing eyeliner... you can buy them at walgreens and best of all they are $0.99 so you can buy a few and try them out... and if you don't completely like the outcome you aren't out of a ton of money! :)
apply a soft kohl pencil to your lashline, then smudge. It's simple, quick and pretty awesome looking.

How do i apply liquid eye liner?

i finally got liquid eye liner, the thing is,i dont kno how to put it on w/out making a mess.please help me!How do i apply liquid eye liner?
u close your eye, (if u need to, hold it shut) then u take a little bit of liquid eye-liner and streak it across your eye lid, starting from the outside. just make sure that when u spread it across, u do that right where ur eye lid meets ur eyelashes. the trick is to make ur eyelashes lok darker and bigger, not to use it as eyeshadow! the less u put twords the center of ur eye. the bigger your eyes will look. How do i apply liquid eye liner?
what i do is i close my eye than i actually pull my eye lid back than i trace my lash line
take the brush or whatever it comes with and squish it so it has a point, then dip it in the eyeliner and put it in a thin line around your eyes. you can also smudge it for a more bold look.
Most liquid liners these days have a pointed tip for application. It is tough to get a perfect line and takes some practice but the most important thing is getting it as close to your lash line as possible. I have found that if I put the applicator tip along the actual lash line instead of aiming for the eyelid, it goes on right where it's supposed to and gives you the Audrey Hepburn look you may or may not be going for. Once you get the basic line established, use a cue tip or your fingers to clean up the top of the line so you either have a smudged smokey look or your line is even all the way across.

Hope this helps. Remember, it won't be perfect until you have done it a while and are practiced so cleanup is critical. Someone recommended doing eyeshadow and mascara before eyeliner and I would disagree completely. Eyeliner is first (following your foundation).
This video may help you: http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-appl…
Ok, this is probobly the best tip anyone will ever give you. They sell this pen. It looks like those old ones that the presidents used to sign the declaration of indipendence. You know the ones that you have to dip in ink and have a big feather. Well they sell it with Avon and its like 5.00 but its magical. Its like using a crayon. Its great for first time users like you and then you once you get the hang of it, you can move on to more complicated stuff.
I use liquid eyeliner almost daily and I can tell you there is a difference between liners. First of all, make sure that the liner you are using has a solid tip to apply it evenly. Second, make sure you have plenty of q-tips available to clear up the smudges, get them damp with your tongue or water and make sure it's not damp. Start with your uppor lashes after applying your mascara and eyeshadow. Practice this and it's a hit. If you want your eyes to really show up, just apply to your upper lids and not the lower, it's a pretty retro look. Good luck.
you have to use your nondominant hand to pull the corner of your eyeand stretch it out and closed... (look like an asian, no offense to anyone!) and I always start at the inside corner to the outside of my eye... make sure also that you wipe the tip and get excess eyeliner off of it so its not drippy!

  • Is there any tricks for applying eye liner?

To help I mean.Is there any tricks for applying eye liner?
Here are some tricks to put on eyeliner:

*If you wear only eye makeup and wonder why at the end of the day your makeup is smudged and coming off, here's why. You need to give a base coat of foundation and powder for the eye makeup to adhere to. Even if you don't want to wear foundation, just apply it to your eyes.

*Pencil eye liners tend to smudge and wear off easier

*Extend the eye liner slightly past the corners of your eye for that cat look that's in.

((I've heard that if you apply white eye liner to the inside bottom lid it makes your eyes look brighter. Be wary of this and don't overload the inside lid. The trick is to make it look as though you don't have any on.))

*If you're all out of eyeliner, take your thinnest application brush, (everyone should have a set of make-up brushes if you wear make-up!) Next, dampen slightly and gently rub across the shadow compact and apply carefully!

*If you have dark circles under the eyes, avoid using dark eyeliner.

((Eyeliner should be a must have staple in every girls makeup kit. Eyeliner allows you to shape, define and emphasize your eyes. Using different shades of eyeliner also allows you to change the look of your eye color. Blue eyes look bluer with brown shades of pencil. While green eyes pop with dark shades of plum. Using different tones on Brown eyes will pick up golden flecks or brighten a deep dark brown eye.))

*Choosing an eyeliner color to make your eye color stand out:

When using liquid eye liner, (this is my specialty :), The first thing you should do is make sure the brush is extremely thin! If it isn't, your line will be too thick and hard to manage while putting on. It's best to buy cosmetics from stores that will take them back. Or ask on cosmetic message boards what others like. I have found, after trying virtually every brand on the market, that wetn'wild has the best thin tipped brush out there! And the color doesn't peel off like some other liquid eyeliners.

*Wipe the excess off when you pull the brush out of the tube. I find that if you wipe access on a clean piece of plastic, when you need to re-load the bush, use the extra that was left on the plastic. It not only saves on the eye liner but you can control how much is on your brush. Plus you can avoid tainting the liner in the tube with germs.

*Always apply liquid eye liner after eyeshadow application and allow to dry before applying mascara

*Use Liquid eye liner on top and pencil for the bottom.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    Liquid Eyelining Tips:

*Liquid eyeliner creates a dramatic, strong line that really emphasizes the shape of your eye. With the right liquid liner, the lasting power is doubled that of a pencil liner. Liquid liner should only be applied up top, above the lashes.

When applying eyeliner, apply as close to the lashes as possible

*If your eyes droop down, line them up towards the outer corner of your eye

*If pencil is freshly sharpened, soften tip by gently rolling it across the back of your hand.Is there any tricks for applying eye liner?
For liquid eyeliner for my top lid I hold the brush with my thumb and index finger.I press the side of my thumb against my cheekbone, starting from the inside of eye(towards nose)I brush with one long stroke resting a bit on top of eyelashes, and depending on the style I curve the line slightly up at the end.Takes lots of practice, use non-waterproof to start with so its easy to take off and re-apply till ya get it right.Hope that helps.Tip:It looks best very thin outlining just above eyelash line,if it waterproof you can look like a natural beauty even at the beach or pool.I get a ton of compliments from the girls that finally notice I have it on.
umm...well depends how you want it. I usually just apply it right on the bottom of my eye..like on the inside of the bottom part of my eye. that's it. maybe some on the upper part of your eyelid but I don't like to use a lot..just a bit to bring out your eyes and then some eye shadow.

    ; )
pull down your eye, to the inner rim . and just use a pencil and make it thick because it comes off a little but . its really easy and i started doing it like that at age twelvee and it worked out just finee(:
I use DuWop and I apply it very thinly and close to the eye. I don't apply it thick cuz i don't wanna look like a raccoon. lol
    top, bottom or both??

Make sure it's sharpened and put it on the inside of the bottom lashes :)How do u apply eye liner?
there is a trick. Use a pencil that is not wooden-spend like $4 extra dollars and get like a physicians formula (they have the best) and htey are like $6. Its creamyish and it rolls up and never has to be sharpened!

the trick is take your RING finge r(becasue it does not tear or pull your delicate eye skin) and pull the corner of tyour eye toward your hair line, then make a small line from the outside in, then blend. and repeat on the top. Start with a thin line and if you want to thicken it just add to it. :)
    youu should get

    twistable eyeliner

I buy the liquid liner. With that, you can make fine or thick lines. If you need to know how to apply liner, though, you can go to youtube and type into the search box apply eyeliner and it will bring up all kinds of videos to help you. It also has how to apply eyeshadow and stuff. Hope this helps you!
Sharpen your pencil. Liquid it mainly for top lash lines unless you absolutely know what you're doing (and it looks as though you don't).

So, get a pencil. Like I said, sharpen and draw. It's like tracing, not difficult.

Hint: Line just the top, make your eyes appear larger.

line just the bottom, look stupid.

line all around, make eyes look smaller.

line outer corners, bigger looking eyes.
Make sure your eye pencil is sharpened, but not pointy. Run it on the back of your hand after sharpening to dull the edge slightly to prevent hurting your skin or eyes. I really like roll up eyeliners since they tend to always be sharpish.
    This should help

Help! how do you apply eye liner?

i've tried but i just can't figure it out does anyone have any tips for a first timer?Help! how do you apply eye liner?
    hi there,

Here are a few pointers and different types of methods to apply eye liners.

    Basic Eye:

This is the perfect work or weekend look for women who want their eyes to ';pop';.

The key to the basic eye is to apply with a light hand.

    Step 1:

Holding the skin of your upper lid taut, apply eyeliner from the outside corner of the eye, stopping two-thirds of the way along the eyelid. Apply with short strokes, drawing the line into the lash line rather than above it. For a more dramatic look, make the outside line a bit thicker than the inside.

    Step 2:

Set liner with a deep eyeshadow. Dip eyeshadow brush into the shadow, then apply shadow over the eyeliner. This will set the eyeliner, which tends to rub off on eyelid.

    Step 3:

Apply eyeshadow to lower lashes. Using your eyeshadow brush, apply the deep-hued eyeshadow along the bottom lashes, from the outside in. Unless you have wide-set eyes, don't line the entire lower lid. Instead, stop halfway across. For a more natural look, don't dip the brush into the shadow again, instead, use the excess that's still on the brush for the lower lashes.

    Step 4:

Clean up any mistakes with a cotton swab.

Extra tips: To make eyes appear wider, trace the inner rims of eyes with a white pencil.

    Smokey Eyes:

The key here is to blend well. Also, make sure to keep all other makeup light or you risk looking like a clown. You don't want the rest of your makeup to compete with your eyes.

    Step 1:

Holding the skin of your upper lid taut, apply eyeliner from the inside corner of the eye outward. Draw strokes into the lash line. The middle of the line should be a bit thicker than the edges.

    Step 2:

Use a cotton swap (or your finger, if you're lazy like me) to ';smudge'; the liner.

    Step 3:

Dab an eyeshadow brush into a deep-hued eyeshadow and apply over the eyeliner to set the line. (Blow on the brush first to remove any excess shadow). Layering liner with a shadow is the secret to a perfect smoky eye.

    Step 4:

Blend shadow well, then follow with eyeshadow. According to the March 2006 issue of InStyle Magazine, with a smoky eye, ';color should diffuse from rich and dark near the lashes to almost sheer as it extends to the crease.'; [For more on the smoky, check out this step-by-step article.

    The Bold, Dramatic Eye:

Bold eyes are a dramatic choice for evening. Try eyeliner shades other than deep black for a super cool look.

    Step 1:

Holding the skin of your upper lid taut, apply the liquid liner from the middle of the eye to the outside corner of the eye.

    Step 2:

Draw a second line from the inside corner of your eye, letting the two lines meet. The outer edge of the line should be thicker than the inside. If you have close-set eyes, avoid taking the line all the way to the inside corner.

    The Cat Eye:

Forget the advice you may have read in the past never to line the inside rims of eyes because it makes eyes look tiny.

Sexy cat eyes are a cool look for night. The key to this look is to apply a thin line to the inside rims of the lids.

    Step 1:

Holding the skin of your upper lid taut, dot liquid liner along the upper lash line as close to the eye as possible. Apply line from corner to corner of eye, extending the line upward at the outer corner of eye. Let liner dry for a few minutes before touching.

To soften this look (black liquid liner can be harsh), InStyle Magazine suggests trying a smudgeable pencil in a lighter color like dark brown or charcoal.

    Step 2:

Hold down the lower lid and apply liner only to the outer three quarters of the rim. Fade out the line as you approach the tear duct, according to makeup artist Mally Roncal in the March 2006 edition of InStyle Magazine. Extend the liner upwards at the outer corners.

For a softer version of this look, use an eye shadow brush and sweep a taupe or brown color on the lower lash line.Help! how do you apply eye liner?
it doesn't really matter if you mess up a little putting the eyeliner on because you can put concealer on over it so it'll be a thinner line...looks a lot better
make sure your pencil is sharp. you want to gently brush the pencil under your eye lid ~ if you push too hard it will make your eyes look smaller. Then do the same on the top start at the inside and gently brush the pencil to the outside edge. Don't be afraid to get it a little thick because then you can take your ring finger and rub it in for the smokey eye look.

    Practice, Practice, Practice.

and skip forward to 02:37, that's where it shows how to put on eyeliner and watch from there , or you can watch the whole thing if you like (it's basic makeup techniques).

I believe you should do it like she does in the video :) I do!

Hope I was some help :)
Take a compact mirror or a handheld mirror and place it on the counter top. Sit down at the counter and look down at the mirror. Apply the eyeliner to your top lids while you are looking down into the mirror.
    With a pencil liner
Do the bottom, then the top.

look down and stick the penicl under your lashes and runit through from the tear duct to the other side, then pull your eyelid taut, keeping it slightly open, and make a thin line DIRECTLY, above your lashes.

The pull your eye down ad apply it along the waterline, smudge, and then go over it once again.
Okay the right way 2 apply eyeliner is on the edge of the lid. But 4 a 1st timer I suggest putting it directly under the eyelashes. Hope I could help! Keep a steady hand!

stretch the lid like this so it's easier to do a thin straight line

sharp so you start off thin, %26amp; then apply the liquid over it

It depends on the effect you want. Pull your top lid from the outer corner, not too tight, and apply exactly above your lashes. Applying on the lashes might cause an eye infection. Liquid liner can be difficult and require practice. Try gel liner I think Cover Girl makes some or if you have money Bobby Brown makes one that stays on for 8 hours. They come in a little jar and you use an angled brush to apply it. It's much easier because it doesn't drip but it still looks bold like a liquid. If applying pencil, just draw a line and you can lightly sweep a q-tip over it to smudge it or your finger! You can also buy a smudging tool that almost looks like a little pencil eraser. If you want smoky eyes make the line thicker, smudge it, and add dark shadow on top and blend upwards. If you want a subtle effect, use a thinner line and smudge it into a neutral or light colored shadow. I love makeup! Any other questions?
you just apply it to the line where your lashes grow out and that's pretty much it.

you can smuge with a pencil liner but not a liquid liner, just buy an eye pencil that has a smudge on the other end and just smudge a bit, you don't even have to if you don't want to.

it's really easy, plus you can youtube these things :)

    good luck!

How should i apply mi eye liner?

i am not very good and i need tips. QUICK!How should i apply mi eye liner?
For me, I don't apply it all the way around my eye. It looks tacky and ghoulish.

I reccomend a very thin line of eyeliner below the eye, and thicker line on top. I only line the edge of my eye on top, though.

For more details on it, visit the following instructional videos:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJavDGyKA鈥?/a>

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cegCXLln8鈥?/a>How should i apply mi eye liner?
you actually could use a very narrow brush and smudge the eyeliner into your lash line. DO NOT pile it on. if you don't have a brush, dot the pencil in your lash line and smudge it in with a Q-tip. Try watching TLC's ';What Not To Wear';, Carmindy, the make-up artist teaches people how to apply natural looking make-up
If your doing it on the bottom of your eye. pull your top cheek bone down use your other hand and but your eye liner on be careful it will hurt if you poke yourself! But if you want to put it on the top. pull your eye lid skin to the side and put it on smoothly! lol this is the best way i can explain it!

    hope it helps!
i put on liner using black eyeshadow with a concealer brush on top and bottom, putting it on the bottom seems to make my eyes pop, but when you put it on the top only apply it to half the eye , make it look like its fading towards the inner part of the eye because it gives it a catlike effect.
well i use an eye liner pencil.not the twist kind.put the tip of the eye liner in the crease of your eye(the one closests to your nose) and move back and forth and it will put a really good line on your eye and just where you want it.and move back and forth more for a darker line. :]
dont put it on the bottom, it looks bad. and also, put the tip of your finger on the corner of your eye. with you finger still on your eye, pull away from your eye to flaten out your eyelid, and then apply.
    on top

What is the current style with applying eye liner?

I have always applied eye liner under my top and bottom lashes, about half way to center, tapering it off the closer I get to the middle. I notice some of my friends aren't applying any eye liner under their bottom lashes. Is that the style now? I don't want to stop putting it there, because my eyes are my best feature and I want to accent them. Without liner under the bottom lashes, my eyes look much smaller. What is the current style with applying eye liner?
No one's going to think you're hopelessly outdated if you keep wearing eyeliner the way that looks best on you. What is the current style with applying eye liner?
What you're doing is good - it will make the eyes seem farther apart, which is kind of attractive in our society. I don't think there's any style regarding lining the top only.

For god's sake, just promise you will not line all the way around your eyes. There is nothing in the world that is harsher than that. Plus, it makes your eyes look smaller and closer together.
if you are more comfortable wearing eyeliner under your lower lashes then go for it. It's not out of style. If you want to change it up you might want to consider lining the whole undereye. Starting on the end closest to you your nose sweep the liner to your outer eye. Make sure to rub with a q-tip or sponge so it smidges a little....this will give youa more smokey eye.
well this is what i've been hooked on for awhile now:

liquid (or pencil) black liner: tilt head backwards, and look Down into the mirror. apply liner from inner corner of eye to about 3/4, then instead of following the eye curve downwards, go Straight and Up, creating a slight Cat- Eye effect. when u look at ur face normally, ur eyes should look more ';open';. apply mascara to TOP lashes only.

on bottom lash line, i get a Highlighter eyeshadow (u can also use a pencil), in Gold, Cream, or White. apply w/ flat tip brush. this will also make ur eyes look big and highlights ur eyes. good luck! :)
You def. have to test some styles out, judging by what looks best on the shape of your face/ eyes. That's why different looks are good on different face types. I preferably like the smokey look with the dark colors. But if you think something doesn't look right then go back to the way you want them to look. No one will think you're outdated. Makeup styles are kind of one thing that I think can't go out of style.
i put it at the bottem and i make it look dark
Most people apply under the eye now but i think it looks awful after they may rub their eye and smug it. I think a nice thin line on top, maybe with a cat eye affect. If your eyes are your best feature take a liquid eyeliner then apply a thin line to the top with the affect, it will look cute.
put a little shadow at the bottom of your eye lid.
i put it on top of my lower lashes.
erm the same as it has ever been i think!!
  • hair brush
  • Can u apply eye liner using a flat brush and a dark eyeshadow?? i heard that somewhere?

how do u do that? Can u apply eye liner using a flat brush and a dark eyeshadow?? i heard that somewhere?
Yes, that's what I do! I buy an eyeshadow called ';Carbon'; from MAC cosmetics and a thin brush they sell there too and just simply apply it along my eye line! It's great and lasts a long time! They sell it at Macy's! I totally recommend it! Good Luck! Can u apply eye liner using a flat brush and a dark eyeshadow?? i heard that somewhere?
Yes you can. Apply it as you would with your kohl eyeliner, making it as close to your lash-line as possible. Sometime wetting the brush a little helps. Wait till it dries and use a bigger brush to smudge the line a little.

The result is a more natural look than using pencil/liquid eyeliner.
Yes, you can do that, and the flat brush is amazing for drawing straight lines. Instead of dark eyeshadow, I'd recommend using a gel eyeliner. Many of the respondents here quote MAC and I agree. I use their fluidline range and find that it really stays and doesn't smudge. I also use the flat brush from their range.
Yeah, you need a eyeliner brush and a darker eyeshadow. then use the brush right above your eyelashes. it work better then eyeliner.
ya i do it all the time. i use an angular brush intsead of a flat brush that works better. i just apply it near my lashes and they blend in more nicely than pencil eyeliner.
You want to use an angle brush... apply it into the lash line and smudge it in. It is pretty simple. Just make sure it gets all the way into the lash line... you can also use this http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>

as it will help turn any shadow into a true liner.
There are two types of liner brushes you can use. First there is this one:

    http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>

This one you use in very short strokes to get the eye shadow as close to the lashes as you can. I find this kind of brush a little more difficult to work with as you have to have patience. If you're experienced with liquid liner, you should have no problem with this type of brush.

    Then there is this type:

    http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>

I use this type more to dot the eyeshadow around my eyes. Being flat and stiffer than a regular eyeshadow brush, dotting around the eyes with this brush helps keep the line fine and straight. You'd brush it after dotting to blend the line so it's even.

    I hope this helps...
yes, you just slightly dampen the brush to make the shadow a bit heavier and darker. i usually use eyeliner, then go over it with a matching shadow for it to last longer.
eyeliner brushes work better. they are thinner and make it easier to make a thin line. also, it is easier to wet the brush and then sweep it in the shadow making a sort of liquid liner out of the shadow. hope that helps!!!!
You should use a small angled brush to apply. You can buy one from a makeup counter, like MAC. You can use any color to line you upper and lower lid. It's nice to use a light color below and a dark color above. You can apply the eyeshadow either dry or wet, depending on the look you are going for.

Uh how do you apply eye liner?

i am in my bros account i'm 13 and i don't know howUh how do you apply eye liner?
you kind of apply it like its a colored pencil you just follow the shape of your top and bottom lashesUh how do you apply eye liner?
Here are the steps it takes

    1. Loose Powder on your top and bottom eyelids to make the liner stick

    2. When drawing the lines put your elbow on a table, counter or other hard surface to keep hands from shaking.

    3. Start by doing the line on your top lash line. Don't start right in the corner look your reflection straight in the eye and either where your iris starts from the inner corner or right in the middle of your iris.

    4. Draw a line either in short feathery strokes to get a light color or in one long glide to get a darker color.

    5. repeat steps 3 and 4 for your bottom lash line

    Optional:

    1. After you draw the top line you can exceed your eye, no more then 1/4 of an inch, to give a little more attitude

    2. You can make the top line a little thicker to make your eyes pop more

    3. You can also blend the line a little bit to look more natural and smoky.

You are supposed to follow your lash line across your eye and always apply it right above your eyelashes, whether it is the top or bottom. If you are doing the bottom, you can try to keep your eyes more open because that way it is easier to apply. It may take a few tries if you haven't done it before and you have sensitive eyes, but it should get easier and it will come out better after a while. For the top, I would start out with a retractable pencil because they are a lot easier to begin with rather than a liquid eyeliner. I actually just did mine in the top today and for the first time it actually came out decent looking b/c I switched to a retractable pencil instead of using liquid eyeliner, and that made it a lot easier! Also try to keep your eyes kind of closed when you're doing the top and tilting your head to the side helps when you're doing the inner corners. 鈾?I hope this helps! =)
put it basicly on ur eye. like where the eye lashes grow. on thetop and bottem.

What are some tips for applying eye liner?

I have really small, but very blue eyes I want to make them look pretty without looking like I'm going to some club. I also have problems getting a good, straight line. Any tips? Also, know any eye liners that won't rub off or run by the end of the day? What are some tips for applying eye liner?
ok so when your putting it on the bottom.

just LIGHTLY slide it right below your eyelashes.

then if you want it darker you already have a line so go over it.

and for the top all you have to do is shut one eye. pull it to the farthest side and draw the line. it should be so tight you can tell where to draw itWhat are some tips for applying eye liner?
pull your eye taught so you look like an asian [no offense to those who are] apply to the lower lid and inside on the rim of the lid then use your finger or a smudging pencil and go over it LIGHTLY
try revlon or loreal eyliner. they're very good! (don't smudge as much!/easy!)

just do the top of your eyes with the liner, and choose a lighter shade (no black - would be way too dark for your blue eyes) ..

you could use liquid eyeliner which dries very fast but it always takes practice for anyone who is applying eyeliner. my first 15 tries sucked so bad, and i looked like I got a black eye.

    good luck

do it slowly. the best eye liner that i use is revlon. it wont rub off, it has oil in it so its water proof! good luck!
i apply it only on the top eye lid its flattering not overdone and for the smudging put powder foundation on the area your putting the liner (before of course) on and DON'T TOUCH YOUR FACE the oil from your hand will make the liner smudge
If you don't ones that rub off.. you need a waterproof one. Rimmel is pretty good. And are you using liquid or pencil? Liquid is hard to get in a straight line, you need a steady hand. But pencil is much easier, just take it slowly section my section. And it's all about practice!

p.s.I find that Cover Girl has the best mascara! It's their new one in an orange tube.

How to apply liquid eye liner on top and bottom lid?

whats a good inexpensive brand? How to apply liquid eye liner on top and bottom lid?
I use L脪real Lineur Intense Felt Tip liquid eyeliner (about $10 at Pharmasave/Superstore in Western Canada). My two favorite shades are Earthen Rock Brown and Carbon Black, for variation to either a daytime or nighttime look. How I apply liquid liner when I'm wearing it on both my top and bottom lids is to do my top lids first - I start at the outside of my natural lash line and gently draw the felt tip across towards the inside of my eye, keeping as close to the lashes as possible. I then usually add a bit more shape to the outer edge of the rim of my eyelid, creating a bit of a cat's-eye effect. And finally I wipe any mistakes away with a dampened cotton swab. For my lower lids, I start close to the inner corner of my eye and, without worrying too much about making a perfectly thin line, gently draw the felt tip outwards until I reach the end of my lash line. I then use another damp cotton swab (or a fingertip if I'm using the lighter brown shade) to wipe away the excess eyeliner until desired thickness is achieved. I finish my look by applying concealer with a brush for accuracy, and always sweep a little powder on my lids to increase the staying power of the liner. One word of warning - if you are wearing false eyelashes with black liquid eyeliner, make sure the adhesive or glue you're using will not dry gray. Good luck! How to apply liquid eye liner on top and bottom lid?
You should find the middle of the top of your lashline and stroke from there to the outer corner of you eye. Start with lighter pressure and build it up so you make it thicker on the outter side of the lashline.

Then, go to the corner of your eye, use little pressure again, and meet the line that you made the first time.

If you start at the corner of your eye, you will probably make the line too thick or uneven. By doing it in sections and connecting, you have more precision.

And you want to aim for the line to be thinner, then thicker when it meets the corner of the end of your eye:D

you should NOT line the BOTTOM of your eye

Use pencil liner if you must line the bottom.
I prefer a liquid eyeliner with a brush, there are some which are like pen tips which enable easy drawing. So you got to pick which suites you.

The key is to start on the inner side of the eye on the top lid and apply one even stroke over the entire lid. That keeps it even. You can then thicken it by applying few more strokes or leave it thin. If you have small eyes a thicker application will make your eyes look bigger and dramatic. I use only kajal or kohl pencil on the lower lid as i find liquid liner may get into the eye. As far as the brand is concerned i like revlon and mac eyeliners and pencils. Lakme and revlon are among the cheaper brands i guess.
...No liquid liner on you bottom lid (aka waterline) If it gets in your eye, it'll irritate like NO other.

Get a Kohl pencil to put on your bottom lid like technkohl eyeliner from MAC Cosmetics. It's a retractable kohl pencil that is waterproof and smudge proof.
I put eyeliner on pretty weird... Whenever I close my eyes they like spaz out and my eyelids flutter, I guess you could say, so I close my eye and pull the corner out. Then you just put it on close to your lash line. That was for the top lashes. For the bottom, you don't put it where you would the normal pencil eyeliner. You put it on the lash line. Otherwise, if you close your eyes too soon or something they will get flooded with eyeliner and you don't want that to happen. If it does, you just wash it out with water. But try different ways. Whatever works for you is the way you should do it. :)

I used Covergirl Line Exact eyeliner for a while, but then I got Almay. They both are good, inexpensive liquid eyeliners.

    Covergirl Line Exact:

on the bottom apply on waterline.. just be real careful not it get in your eyes. for the top go slowly and work your way to the front of your eye doing little bit by little bit.. start at the back.... if you want to the curve just go off your lashline and make a triangle=)

    hope tht helps=)
I apply it right at the roots of my eyelashes...they are all the same to me...expensive or not, unless they are a really cheap brand you never heard of.

How to apply eye liner on top lid ?

i can't do it for crap.

    I have twist up eyeliner

    Liquid with a wand

    and a liquid marker.

one of them has to work well for it.

how do you apply eye liner to the top lid.?How to apply eye liner on top lid ?
Use the twist up one, its more fool proof. If you are not so great with eyeliner the other liquids are soooo much more difficult to apply because they just get all over the place. so here we go :

    1. close your eye and maybe apply a little powder loosly to your lid so all the oil is soaked up (not manditory)

    2. take your index finger and keep your eye that you are putting the liner on closed while you take your finger and pull your lid out so you look chinese.

    3. Take the eyeliner and put it right into the lashes and all along them . dont put any on your skin if you want it to look really good and natural.

4.YOUR BEAUTIFUL AND GOOD TO GO:)

i really hope this works out for you. maybe keep a q-tip with makeup remover with you so you can go along and just touch up any place you messed up. How to apply eye liner on top lid ?
i like avon's liquid writer. I start in the middle and work out to the outer corner then go back and finish the inner corner. it takes practice, usually liquid liner is for those with a steadier hand. and i like to use q-tips to fix up the spots where it's too thick. and if worse comes to worse, cover it up with your eyeshadow and only leave how much you want left. its hard to explain without showing you. but I would use the crayon eyeliner first and practice.
I've tried many different types of eyeliner, however i find the best to use is the pencil with the crayon marker. not the pencil that feels like it's going to break through your skin when you use it, but it's soft. of course i can't think of the exact name for it (sorry). anyway i stand super close to the mirror and close my eye and pull my eyelid so that it's slanted towards my ear and just draw a line on. you can go over it as many times as you like to make it darker, or add length. hope this helps!
close your eye and hold your eye lid by holding your eyelashes down with one hand, then with the other make a line across your eye (touching the eyelashes, and if you want it thicker make a line above it (but still touching the other one) and blend it. It's easier than you think :) make sure you put mascara on after you do the eye liner though!
search youtube. i cant really type it. Lol.

Right way to apply eye liner?

thin line on top lid then thin line below bottom lashesRight way to apply eye liner?
Liquid eyeliner on the top, pencil on the bottom.

    How to apply eyeliner:

    http://www.ehow.com/how_157_apply-eyelin鈥?/a>

As for the top lid you use liquid eyeliner because it is really easy, firstly slant your eye (kind of like Chinese or Japanese) and start from the inner eye towards the end and always try to keep a continuous streak (you can fix any faults afterwards) follow your eyelash line (very cloxe to the lash) and apply a thin layer all the way across your top lid. If there are any faults you can easy fix it with a Q-Tip and either make-up remover or water.

    Goodluck!!! :)

is liquid or kohl better?Any tips on how to apply liquid eye liner?
Liquid is better and doesnt smudge as easyAny tips on how to apply liquid eye liner?
i like them both... to get the skill to apply liquid u will have to use it a couple of times before actually getting out.practice in front of a mirror. and erase the smudges with a Q-tip Report Abuse

lean on hard surface so ur hand doesnt shake as much for liquid or kohl eyeliner.liquid eyeliner gives a more dramatic look.but kohl eyeliner gives a much a more softer look
liquid i find stays on longer. this article has some great tips on applying makeup hope it helps
i think liquid better you should try to keep the applicator horizontal and get it as close to lashes as poss. start at the middle going out and then from inner of your eye to middle it works best for me.
Liquid will saty put for longer, and will create a strong line. To apply it, close one eye, and pull gently towards your temple, then run the brush along the top of your lid, just above the lash line. If you arent able to get a straight line, try dabbing tiny dots of the eyeliner along the top of your lashes, then using a cotton bud, smudge them together to form a line. Khol will give you a softer line, and is much easier to apply to bottom lashes that liquid - try to avoid applying to the inside rim of your eye, as this will make your peepers appear smaller (outside will make them appear larger)
Liquid if you want real definition, kohl if you want a nice smoky look. I discourage dotting if you can't do it with little dots. If you get big dots you end up with either a lumpy line or a very thick one depending on how much you try to correct it. I go with the line of my eyelashes, just painting the very root of the lash and just above it. The little flick at the end seems a little trashy to me but to each her own. I tend to only do the upper eyelid, because it seems to open the eyes more. Hope this helps!
    with a trowel
Liquid is better because it doesn't smudge easily....i prefer kohn though as its easier to apply....

Try applying the eyeliner while your eye is open then you won't be tempted to blink...or try resting your hand on your cheek to steady it..

I find Mac's Kohl best...even though its a pencil it lasts for ages.
i would'nt have a clue to be honest i look like a panda when i put it on.
I am a make up artist and here are some tips.

    what you need:

    eye liner brush

    eyeliner

    mascara

It takes alot of practice to get that perfect line or just to use the eyeliner itself. I like to put liquid eye liner on with a brush its easier. Then after you apply the eye liner(should only be at the top to get the good look) make sure its completely dry. The apply mascara.

If you doing the whole look start with eyeshadow

Shape and define your eyes with eyeliner after you've applied eye shadow and before applying mascara. Whether you choose a soft line or a dramatic stroke, eyeliner draws attention.

First, close one eye and gently tug and hold the outer edge of the eye taut with your left hand. With your right hand (lefties, vice-versa), using short strokes, line from the inner corner of the eye to the outer corner, using a slight upward sweep at the outer corner. The upward point gives the illusion of gradually longer lashes (after curling and mascara, of course).

To steady a shaky hand when you want to apply a liquid liner, standing close to a mirror helps. Stand close to the mirror and allow the back of your hand to gently touch the mirror. This steadies the hand while you are applying the liner!

    Hope that helps.
liquid. Start from the middle of the eye to the end and then go to the beginning
Smokey Cats Eyes. Ingredients for powerfully sexy eye makeup:

Black eyeliner pencil Khol. Ensure that it is sharp.

Black eyeliner brush Liquid. The thinner the liquid eyeliner is the better.

Eye shadow brush. Thin stumpy bristles are best to maintain control.

Dark eye shadow. Irridescent rather than flat matt (too hard), or shiny (too messy).

Highlight shimmer for under the eyebrow. Avoid garish looking 鈥榟igh glitter鈥?

A good eyebrow pencil. Try to select the most natural shade for you as possible.

    Eyelash curlers.

Black mascara. Obviously choose a quality brand to avoid clumping and 鈥榮pider eyes鈥?

Step-by-step instructions for smokey cat eyes:

Apply your foundation, under eye concealer and powder.

Using your black eyeliner pencil (Khol), start from the front corner of your bottom eyelid. Draw a soft smudge line to the end of your lash line.

Use your eyeshadow brush to apply the dark eye shadow over the top of the smudged line for a soft smoky look. Ensure that the edges are neatly blended.

Then take the liquid brush eyeliner and apply as close to your lashes as you can on the top lid only. Make the line as thick and pronounced as you wish, but make sure that the line is thickest at the outer corner, and thinner as you go inward.

Apply another smoky coat of eye shadow with the brush to blend the harsh edges.

Subtly blend your darker eye shadow up from your lashes to your eye crease. Then apply a shimmery highlight in white or cream under the outside corner of your eyebrow.

Use your eyebrow pencil to make your eyebrow curve more pronounced.

Curl your eyelashes, then apply thin coats of mascara, building the layers up gradually to avoid clumping.

NOT THE ANSWER YOU WERE EXACTLY LOOKING FOR BUT IT GIVES EXAMPLES ON HOW TO USE BOTH KHOL AND LIQUID LINERS - Some people use either one or the other or as above, hope this helps
It depends what sort of look you are after.

Go for kohl if you want a smudgy look, or for a more defined 50's look (which is in at the moment) go for the liquid liner.

To steady your hand a bit whilst applying the liquid liner, have your mirror in front of you and rest your elbow on a table and with the other hand slightly stretch the eyelid sideways and create your line starting from the inside out.
i prefer liquid stretch your eye out and support it and slowly do the line . or else do dots along the eye and join them
liquid is better for ur eyelids, u need to lean down so ur elbows resting on a unit with a mirror infront of u, take ur time n it should go on well, use kohl around the bottom rim of ur eyes 4 full effect
yes apply little dots on then tap them gently----i read it on a mgazine
first off you don't get kohl in liquid eyeliner, only in pencil form i believe. tips for application are-take your time, ALWAYS rest you elbow on a table or something and get plenty of product on the brush so you don't have to redraw it and risk messing it up. also before you buy a liquid eyeliner, look at the brush and try to buy one with a tapered end instead of a straight cut one as this will aid application. oh and PRACTISE-alot. have fun
of course liquid is better because they last a lot longer and it doesnt smear easily!! if its ur first time then it might be hard since ur hand is going to shake but try to do it often so u can get used to the process.. soon u will be professional at it! =)
don't blink or it will smear. you have to let it dry.
I prefer liquid try and keep a steady hand, and keep q-tips handy for any smudges or mistakes while applying.
i think that both work GREAT.. mostly its just a personal preference.. just try both out, and c wich one u like better..

try using a magnified mirror and practice practice practice, its worth it because it does not smudge as much but if you are very fair or have small eyes be careful as it can look a bit too heavy.
